“The Dizzy & Jarren Show” (@Dizzywright / @JarrenBenton) concert Review

Funk Volumes, Dizzy and Jarren Show was one to remember from the time I walked to the door to the very end.

I remember being told that it started at 8pm, and arriving at 9 Pm assuming that I wouldn’t miss a thing. By the time I entered the Ready Room Jarren Benton was already on stage and seem to be there a while. The crowd of about 200 people, were full of energy, and about 30-50 people were even allowed to hit the stage and rock out during his set, (which is something I’ve never seen before btw). dizz

After Jarren Benton’s set, there was about a 30 minute interlude. Some suggested back stage action or what ever, none of my business. With St.Louis’s unique taste in music the Dj bounced around from genre to genre, in a hit or miss fashion trying to capture the vibe of the crowd ultimately getting it right, with a mixture of Waka Flocka Flame, Mgk, and Lil John to say the least.

Once Dizzy Wright hit the stage the crowd was on 10, as he wore a U.S flag designed shirt, in honor of the 13th anniversary of 9/11. His set consisted of several mosh pits, that his security team didn’t seem to thrilled with an a couple of crowd awesome crowd surfs that at one time looked like a crowd walk.10671237_10203886367233984_594479196385725627_n

Overall for this to be my 1st Funk Volume concert it was an experience full of 1st, and people looking to have fun. They had dope merchandise on sell as well. As far as who had the crowd more on their feet, you’ll have to tweet me @Whobeta .Events

YUNG HANG ( @YungHang23 ) – ‘BAD INFLUENCE’ | Shot By @EagleFilms1

S/o to Eagle Films holding it down for the 618 with another one. July 8th East Saint artist Yung Hang released the visuals of one of his latest songs”Bad Influences” ft. Ralph G. Through out the song Yung Hang declines to hang out with people with no inspiration or motivation to get their own in life. The video has everything a traditional hip hop video has. Nice whips, bottles, hood shots, everything but the women.

The song it self is a fun catchy, uptempo song with a easy hook and message, stay away from broke people, “Bad Influence.”

Be on the look out for his new mixtape, which I believe will be titled “Charged Up” in early September. Follow Yung Hang on twitter for more on his mixtape.

St.Louis native and current Princess of Hip Hop Tiffany Foxx came back to St.Louis to work her ass off hosting a party at the Soho Friday, to tearing down the stage at Super Jam for the Official kick off of the Summer Season, and ended her St.Louis summer kick off with a listening party at State of the Art Phat Buddah studio’s in downtown St.Louis which was a private event until she decided her fans & potential fans deserved a change to see Foxx’s “Body” of work.

Her listening party was for her new project “King Foxx” which was released June 16th on Livemixtapes.com . The tape filled with 13th monster tracks include features , and production from several heavy weights in the game including Pusha T, Zaytoven, and well as a few known names in St.Louis such as Bradd Young and Vega Heart Break. “King Foxx” has been getting great reviews online, with some people more excited over her look then sound.

The listening party which was set to start at 7pm was pushed back to 8ish as many waited for the “King Foxx” to arrive, as some wrote on her twitter, and Facebook pages, “we here where are you,” from 1 supporter on Facebook.Tiffany Foxx ( @1tiffanyfoxx ) comes home for to St.Louis #Kingfoxx Listening Party

After being fashionably late they began the onslaught of 13 tracks, and a slew of compliments from her management , team, and supporters followed each track, including emotional moments from her manager which described her as the female “Jay Z”, and also Rock-house Owner / Founder Orlando Watson who credits her for starting the St.Louis power house, after building a musical relationship and and introducing him to singer, song writer Brad Young.

After playing the entire tape they asked all in attendance what their favorite records were and the overwhelming response from ladies was “I want all this, I want all this, I want all this,” which is the hook to the catchy track “Buy Her What She want” which has a throwback Gucci Mane feel to it. They even gave a sneak peak to the album playing a snippet of a track with St.Louis producer / rap artist Vega Heartbreak. Before closing out the session she urged her home town for support, and expressed how important it was for her city to follow suite with the movement she has else where like in New York, Atl, etc.

Soundbar Management release statement Banning Uncle Luke

image.png

1st of if you are just here for the video heres a small clip http://stlhiphop.com/the-same-old-luke-still-nasty-as-he-wanna-be

The Sound Bar released what appears to be a statement disowning Uncle Luke’s freaknic at their venue May 23rd, where he had girls naked on stage eating each other, in a crowd of over 500 people, for more than 5 minutes.

The club even goes further banning the 2 Live Crew leader from their establishment making them probably the 1, 000nd venue to do so, with his consistent raunchy reputation.

The promoter of the event announced plans to bring Uncle Luke to a bigger venue in the fall so ladies “be prepared.”

The promoters next big concert at “The Soundbar” consists of Porche Williams of the hit Tv show, “The Real House Wives of Atlanta”

Here’s the Soundbars complete statement below.

On Friday, May 23, 2014, entities involved with the SoundBar solicited the services of Luther Campbell. The services involved Mr. Campbell judging a contest involving clothing reminiscent of late 90’s attire. The individual with the best attire was to be awarded a sum of $1,000. This was a promotional event to attract more customers to the venue. It was documented, as well as implied through various channels that this was entirely a promotion involving attire. There was no premeditated motions or directions for the event that took place that evening to be enacted in a distasteful manner. Luther Campbell took the microphone and began to give his own direction. Luther Campbell offered contestants award money equaling $1,000 if they would began to perform lewd acts. After minutes of this activity a representative of the SoundBar intervened and stopped Mr. Campbell before he could go any further. At this time, Mr. Campbell and associates have been banned from the SoundBar. SoundBar, it’s management, and representatives do not condone, and rather detest the character, actions, and directions of Mr. Campbell. SoundBar, and any entity doing business with SoundBar, is under the complete understanding that this is not the direction that this place of entertainment wants to take. SoundBar is instituting strict guidelines to be enacted, starting immediately. SoundBar and it’s management will be donating a monetary gesture to local churches whom are dealing with the development of young women. Also, we will be offering our services to any organization needing a venue for fundraisers dealing with health, development, or betterment of women. Once again we stress this is not the vision SoundBar had at it’s conception, and we are dedicated to resuming the concept that has guided our focus before the serious issues that became prevalent on that night.

Thank you,
SoundBar Management
