Lil Cray (@Crayflame) 3 Million listens on single “Kyrie Irving” will be in St.Louis Feb. 11

AP1060136.JPG Cleveland rapper who blends the trappy sounds of the South and Midwest, Lil Cray born in  1997 was just 17 years old when his “Kyrie Irving” single passed 3 million listens on his soundcloud & began to gain national attention. Releasing his Mixtape/EP “TURNT LIKE REESE” let his fans know that he will be around the music game for a while. He is now gearing up to release his catchy single “Kyrie Irving” to the world via Major indie label E 1 (Formally Koch), working to provide a movement behind his music Lil Cray is determined to display the midwest culture. “Lil Cray embodies whats going on in young urban America, his music is based around that” say Quincy “Big Heff” Taylor. & the #MWB7 Winners are??? Ueno Rhymes (@official_ueno) & King Tyrus / La Buck

#MWB7In what could have been the final Midwest Best $1000 Showcase. Fans & talent came out from across the Midwest & South, to find out who had what it takes to be the next Midwest Best Winner.

The 1st winner is always based strictly off who brings the most people to the event and this time around the winners won in a land slide King Tyrus & La Buck easily brought over 30 people out January 23rd which is the second highest number anyone has ever brought to a Midwest Best competition and was rewarded $500.00 for their accomplishments.

The second Midwest Best winner which was determined off the judges critique & was harder to determine with judges looking at 4 key factors (stage presence, image, sound quality, & likability). There was a lot of talent in the building that name including some of my favorite performances of the evening King Cakes, Luh Stank,Cash Zone, Biggs (Dayton,Ohio) & Deezy Da Papaer Boy. I wasn’t judging nor did I see every performance to give an honest take, and  the judges almost unanimously agreed that Ueno Rhymes was worthy to become the next Midwest Best Winner, and the crowd agreed (for the most part) with minimal salty looks in the crowd. The judges liked her unique sound, and explosive stage performance, while noting that she has a unique fashion about her that’s not common.

#MWB6 $1000 Winners “QP” of Dayton & King Nation of Omaha

#MWB6.jpgMidwest Best 6 went down in history November 14th as the 1st Midwest Best $1000 Showcase where both winners where from outside of the St.Louis region.

Omaha group King Nation brought the most people out to Studio 618 that night with a total of 24 people counted which mean they brought more support then any artist from the St.Louis area & walked away with $500.

The judges had a tougher time picking the Midwest Best judges pick considering between 5 artist in particular Queen Kong of Northern Mississippi, J Boy Boss Azz of Milwaukee, T Hunt & QP both from Dayton & Draya Bytch of St.Louis,Mo.

After about 10 minutes of deliberations the 3 judges which included Song writer and clothing designer known as “Tha Supa,”Rick Ross Music Group artist Jayy Topp, and viral sensation Jay Red of Tulsa, OK came to a decision to announce Qp the next $500 winner of the Midwest Best. The reasoning included the fact that all judges connected with with music as well as enjoyed it more than most other artist in the showcase as well as respected his image branding his label Heavy Hittaz & wearing it on his back letting everybody know what he reps.
