Nelly (@Nelly_Mo) New Single “The Fix” feat. Jeremih on New Label
The Fix feat. Jeremih is a sexually provocative track produced by Dj Mustard & samples Marvin Gaye’s classic “Sexual Healin” after hearing mixed reviews of the track I gave it a listen & think its better then a lot of stuff thats on the radio. It’s not “Country Grammar” but, if you liked the album “Suit” this single is for you. Check it out here.
Mixtape of the week Murphy Lee – No I.D. @LiveMixtapes @DJ_Era @MurphyLee
Murphy Lee’s new body of work, released May 2nd is entitled No Id is self explained as not being defined by one sound from one region , and is Hosted by Dj Era.
This mixtape featured a lot of common collabs such as Sag Live, Fresco, and Nelly with a track titled Pimp C which is my personal favorite off the mixtape, which gives a similar vibe to the golden era of Stlhiphip.
Overall, Murphy Lee this project is solid , and worth downloading to find out were this pioneer from the Lou matches up against your other favorite hip hop artist.
Nelly – Thanks To My Ex (Floyd Mayweather Diss) (Ashanti Diss)
Days after a twitter / Ig beef kicked off between Boxing’s biggest star Floyd Mayweather, & top selling artist Nelly about Mayweather and his public bashing of former fiance and her choice to abort his unborn twins, the rapper / singer released a new song entitled, “Thanks to my Ex.”
Through out the song he mentions things about ( we believe to be) her ex Floyd Mayweather, & his ex Ashanti.
Take a listen, & is this the 1st ever R & B diss record from a known rap artist.
Ashanti headlines allstar free Concert In #Nellyville sponsored by #DJSUnitedConf
DJ’s United and Jacc Pot Records did something awesome for people in the St.Louis area Sunday. Providing a major concert starring Hip Hop stars such as Charlie Baltimore, Young Chris, and more headlined by the beautiful songstress and alleged long time former girl friend of Iconic St.Louis rapper Nelly.
This epic concert, which was slightly pushed back, and relocated inside of Crown Plaza Clayton, because of occurring storms but, did not stop fans of all ages and color from coming out to see some of their favorite artist perform.
Both Murder Inc Girls were highlights as th performed hits from their days with Jarule & Irv Gotti. Ashanti ended the show performing hits such as “Happy”, “Rock With You”, the number 1 record with Ja Rule “Always On Time” and her newest record “I got it” with Rick Ross and Producer LT Hutton who acted as her hype man for her entire set, she even had an intermission that included a performance by one of Nelly’s nephews (even though they “aren’t” in a relationship allegedly.
Is “Future” From St.Louis or Nawww!!!!
This photo tells a story about a rapper that was once in St.Louis , and had a single in heavy rotation in the 314 with Lil Boosie and St.Louis area artist Vic Damone “Check My Swag” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUMngZi2KSU which is one of the oldest songs I was able to find featuring the rapper on youtube .
Things that I have head about Rapper Future being from St.Louis include , him growing up here, going to Jennings Senior High, having a house in Burlington Downs, being managed by well known St.Louis artist manager Guccio, and him stealing his rap name Future from a St.Louis based Rap group called “Da Camp.”
After hours of search engine entries the only thing that popped up was concert information, making me believe that either, he has no ties to St.Louis, or that he doesn’t believe his time here was at all important to his career.
After finding nothing on Google, Bing, yahoo, etc I took my search to facebook, getting some of the same contestant answers, and some answers that made more sense then others being tossed around in the past.
Future was not born, nor raised in St.Louis, and he didn’t attend any school during his time in St.Louis. According to many links, interviews, articles, Future received his name by Iconic Southern Hip Hop’s Dungeon Family, while also going by the name of Meathead , which may discredit another rumor that he stole his rap name from “Future Ali” of St.Louis Rap Group “Da Camp.” They believe he adopted the name some time during their stay in Atlanta as openers on Nelly’s Seat / Suit Tour.
While in St.Louis he had a situation with Guccio , and recorded at a few studios in St.Louis including Notifi Studio’s. Me personally I don’t know the specifics of the situation Future had with Guccio ( Management, investor, mentor, etc). He recorded tracks with acts associated with Guccio including Vic Damome & Laudie on the Track, and took very few surfaced pictures.
The photo seen here is from 2006, the same year the Rapper had an arrested for reasons unknown, and was locked for for time unknown.
Hope this helps some one, if / as more info come in expect updates, feel free to click on photo and comment on facebook.
