How @DaReal_TPrince1 & @Swurvie91 won the Winter Midwest Best Showcase
S/o to the winners of the 1st Midwest Best Competition of 2014, T Prince & Young Swurvie.
Young Swurvie won the 1st cash prize bringing in over 25 people in attendance, and being the only artist that night to bring in over 20 fans. One way he was able to bring out his crowd and make make new fans was by giving away his brand of T-Shirts, which he was one of the only few artist giving out or even bringing out merchandise.
T Prince who was the judges unanimous decision took home the 2nd cash prize. The key things the judges were looking for was image , stage presents, sound quality, and song likability. They were impressed with his image rocking his label, Blo Music Mafia Clothing brand which was beyond basic, compared to the usual rapper based hoody / shirt lines. It was also easy to identify his movement in the crowd with his key supports rocking like wise attire. Even though he didn’t do back flips on stage, what the judges liked most about his stage presence was his confidence, he wasn’t nervous at all as he looked the entire crowd dead in their eyes, and hitting every word of his song precisely with no fumbles.
While there were others in consideration like Ne Ne Goon & the Green Light Boys who they believed had a dynamic performances , and Bigg Rich who impressed them a lot with all of the thought he put in to his show disc which almost sounded like he had his own professional Dj on Stage with him. The deciding factor was song likability which set T-Prince apart from the other top 5 contestants, they were blown away about the 4 minute tale of St.Louis, and another thing they liked about his song was that he was confident enough to go with 1 track. More things that was said about the winner was that he didn’t talk as much shit as most people who hit the stage, boasting and bragging about how they were the best and how they were going to win. Even in the crowd as he shouted out various hoods in St.Louis, certain people were excited that some one thought to bring up their hood and saluted him.
After announcing who won there were and will always be people who were upset that they didn’t win, which is understandable, even Beyonce lost competitions as she started her journey in music. Shout out to all who kept it professional and even those who let their emotions get the best of them, some times losing a battle is needed to learn how to win the war.

#TBT Bringing & Meeting 3 6 Mafia on Dj Paul Birthday 2012
One of my biggest moments of 2012 was one of the 1st. January 12th being able to say I helped bring Oscar winning, Hip Hop Icons 3 6 Mafia to the Gateway to the West and even more dope accidentally having them come on founding member Dj Paul’s Birthday.
The same day I meet the Mayor of East St.Louis Alvin Parks for the 1st time as well at city hall, and was able to hear a lot of advice and wisdom from Memphis Legend Dj Paul.
The concert it’s self was unpredictable tosay the least, just like the weather that day. Most of the winter of 2011/2012 was way above average and the day before the concert, the ratchets were wearing shorts, and the weirdo males were wearing flip flops. The evening of January 11th gave St.Louis its only real ( & out the blue) winter storm that season, with mixture of snow, ice, traffic jams, & head aches.
All in all the truest 3 6 Mafia fans came out, Juicy J’s addiction (ratchets) came out. And of course the most known unknowns were in the building. Juicy J, Dj Paul, &
Project Pat.
A very big S/o to Clint Collins, entrepreneur and owner of Studio 618 for giving me the oppurtunity to work with him on such a unreal experience, while not knowing me from a can of paint. This was the 1st of many projects to come.
Doe B “Why” featuring @Tip #RIPDOEB
Weeks before Doe B was tragically murdered in his home town, he recorded a track, paying homage to all he lost in the struggles of the streets. Ironically enough he in the same song he notes that there are people who envy him and want him dead.
The newly released “Why” featuring T.I. (on I-Tunes now), also has the King of the South showing his respects to his lost 1’s on his verse and at the end of the song.
Check it out, Rip Doe B & any one else who anyone miss. Lets stop the violence.

@Luhshaw My Squad ( Official Video) Directed By @RichVisualz
Check out the 1st Official video of Rapper Luh Shaw , of the South Side of St.Louis, entitled “Squad.” In most instances by title and genre alone you expect over 40 African Americans standing around holding their balls, possibly holding illegal fire arms, and doing illegal drugs, all for the world to see. With this video you would be 100% wrong.
This video only features one, Luh Shaw, only. As he repeatedly is asking were is my squad.
The song itself is filled with violence, gun mentions, and gun shot sound affects, and curse words. Something that inner city kids will go crazy for, with a sound simular to hood favorite Waka Flocka Flame. It’s catchy, fun to repeat hook, and trap style beat may leave you asking for your squad.
Check out Luh Shaw live in concert January 25th Studio 618, for a chance at $1000.00 for more info on that concert text 314 629 6404.
