The 8th Midwest Best went down in history as 1 of the biggest Midwest Best of the four held in the unpredictable month of January, with artist from over 10 different states & and over 20 cities in attendance. With so many talented individuals hitting the stage some even regarded Midwest Best 8th as possibly the most talented bunch of talent ever in the Midwest Best competition , making the decision to pick a winner a tough process. The judging panel, which included Platinum writing duo Da Twin Towerz, Award Winning Central Illinois established Artist Deezy Da Paperboy, and others believed that with well practiced dance steps, dancers included, while spitting high energy bars La La should be the undisputed Midwest Best winner, with Dionna Maria of Cleveland, & Leyy of Cincinnati being highly thought of for the honor rounding out the top 3. This win was the 1st by an artist from the southern Illinois (618) market, the 2nd time in a row a female has won this honor, & the 3rd time in a row that an artist from St.Louis city/county did not win.
The other $500 prize that is always given to the artist who brings the most people out that night went to a former Midwest Best winner Young Fe who had 30 plus people travel to the East Side to watch him perform, in second place was rapping new comer J.C. who pulled in 15 people to support his efforts.
Although Lala & Young Fe won the cash prize everyone involved are winners and will get a free placement with Betasblock.com, & other sites, & a free slor on the 1st ever Midwest Best mixtape hosted by the Twin Towerz.
